Why anal lube is different
The anus does not self-lubricate the way the vagina does, so anal play needs a dedicated lube that is thicker, longer-lasting and more cushioning. Regular thin lube works but needs constant reapplication. Anal-specific formulas (often ~500 cP or higher viscosity) stay put and reduce friction for longer.
A note on numbing/relaxant formulas: some anal lubes are marketed as numbing or desensitising.
