A glass dildo is a rigid, non-porous sex toy made from medical-grade borosilicate glass — the same heat-tolerant material used in laboratory glassware and high-end kitchenware. Part of our wider Dildos NZ range, every glass dildo in our New Zealand collection is hand-finished, fully body-safe, and ideal for temperature play: warm in a bowl of water for added heat, or chill in the fridge for a cooling sensation that's impossible with silicone toys.
Borosilicate glass is one of the safest materials available for intimate use. It's completely non-porous (nothing absorbs into the surface), hypoallergenic, easy to sanitise, and — contrary to popular myth — extremely strong; tempered borosilicate is far more resistant to thermal shock and impact than ordinary glass. Each piece we stock is also a small work of art, with sculpted curves, swirled colours and textured ridges designed for precision G-spot and P-spot stimulation.
Quick buying guide
- Material: medical-grade borosilicate glass — non-porous, hypoallergenic
- Temperature play: safe to warm (warm water bath) or chill (fridge)
- Lube: any lube compatible — water, silicone or oil-based
- Beginner pick: 5–6" smooth or lightly-textured G-spot curve
Why borosilicate glass
Borosilicate is the same glass type used in laboratory beakers, oven-safe kitchenware, and high-end coffee gear. It tolerates dramatic temperature swings without cracking, is significantly stronger than soda-lime glass, and is completely non-porous — meaning nothing absorbs into the surface, no bacteria can take hold, and full sterilisation is straightforward.
Temperature play guide
To warm: place the glass dildo in a bowl of warm (not boiling) water for 3–5 minutes. Test against your wrist before use — body temperature is the target, not hot.
To cool: place the dildo in the fridge for 10–15 minutes (not the freezer). Test against your wrist before use.
Never use a microwave to warm glass, and never go straight from cold to hot.
Care and storage
Wash with warm water and mild soap before and after every use. Glass dildos are fully boil-sanitisable — three minutes at a rolling boil for full sterilisation. Pat dry and store in the padded pouch or case the dildo shipped in to protect the surface. Inspect for chips before every use — if you find any, retire the toy.

Frequently asked questions
Are glass dildos safe?
Yes — medical-grade borosilicate glass is one of the safest intimate-toy materials available. It's non-porous, hypoallergenic, and tolerates the temperatures needed for full sterilisation. It's also significantly stronger than ordinary glass.
Can glass dildos break?
Borosilicate glass dildos are tempered and extremely strong, but they can chip if dropped on a hard surface. Inspect for chips before every use — if you find one, retire the toy. Store in the padded pouch they ship in.
How do I clean a glass dildo?
Wash with warm water and mild fragrance-free soap before and after every use. For full sterilisation, boil in water for three minutes. Pat dry and store padded.
Can glass dildos be used for temperature play?
Yes — that's one of their key advantages over silicone. Warm in a bowl of warm water or chill in the fridge before use. Test against your wrist first to confirm the temperature is comfortable.
What lube works with glass dildos?
All lube types are compatible with glass — water-based, silicone-based, and oil-based all work. Unlike silicone dildos, glass doesn't degrade in contact with silicone lube.
